Senator Dianne Feinstein passed away in the early morning hours of September 29th. There had been several active lawsuits pertaining to the senator's late husband's estate, which is likely to be paused while her own estate is settled following her passing.  

Senator Feinstein was married to Richard Blum who passed away in 2022.  Feinstein had a daughter from a prior marriage and Blum had three daughters from a prior marriage.  They did not have any children together.  The legal drama is not an uncommon one that can arise with respect to what is known as blended marriages, where spouses may have children from prior relationships.
