Jong Lee has over 25 years of experience as an attorney, executive, entrepreneur and investor in the United States, Asia and Europe. His current focus areas include federal law, tax, finance and transactional matters. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lee was Managing Director of a family holding company with operations in the United States, Asia and Europe focused on real estate, financial and business services, technology and education. Mr. Lee's prior portfolio experience includes Starbucks (China), MTV Japan, Good Morning Securities (Korea), Nexon (Japan/Korea) and SMIC (China). Mr. Lee was previously a venture capital and private equity executive with Hambrecht & Quist Asia Pacific (Silicon Valley), a technology investment banker with UBS (New York) and a leveraged buy-out and funds attorney with Simpson Thatcher and Bartlett where his primary clients included KKR, Blackstone and JP Morgan Chase.
Mr. Lee is currently an Advisory Board member of Pepperdine University's School of Public Policy and a former Board member of Care Net (Antelope Valley). Mr. Lee has lectured at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Hong Kong University. Mr. Lee earned his Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, an honors graduate of the Parker School of International Law and founding Editor in Chief of the Columbia Law School Journal of Asian Law. He graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Bioengineering and Political Science. Mr. Lee a member of the New York Bar Association.
